Hello everyone, I wrote this short story not too long ago and wanted to share it with you all. I was wanting to write this heart-gripping story and nothing grips you harder than sorrow so please enjoy.
"The first time I saw you, I hated you. We were in the hallway our sophomore year heading to Algebra 2, you winked at me and I slapped you on the arm. We sat by each other in every class we had together. I hated every second of those three classes. As the year went on I came to know you better, I started falling for you but didn't show it.
In the middle of our junior year you finally got up the nerve to ask me out, I said no. All through our junior year every week on Wednesday the first thing you did was ask me out and every time I said no. Finally, after the first semester of our senior year, I said yes. The surprise on your face was hilarious. You took me out to a nice restaurant, we laughed at inside jokes that I didn’t even know we had. I fell in love a little more with you with every word you said. We had so much fun, I agreed to be your girlfriend. The next date was pizza and a movie, you gave me your sweatshirt and I've kept it to this day.
We thought it was the end of the world because we were going to different colleges. What we didn't know was that after a year of college apart I would switch to go to a college closer to you. In our senior year, you asked me to marry you. We were at my Volleyball game at a time-out, and you and a bunch of your buddies ran out on the court. You held up posters and proposed to me in a gym full of smelly people.
Our wedding was beautiful. Our children are too, Teddy and Ginny are two of the sweetest people that I have ever met. But every love story comes to an end because life isn't a happily ever after. We had our love, our fun, and our family. I see you in Teddy’s eyes and I hear you through Ginny’s laugh. I will never forget you. Every time I see Teddy or hear Ginny, I will think of you. So now before I start to cry, I will say goodbye to my best friend, my love, and my hubby." I read the eulogy to the pinewood coffin for the hundredth time today. "Goodbye, my love."
Now that you have read it please share with me any thoughts. Like I said above I wanted to make something gripping. A gripping character, plot, basically just something that tugs on your heartstrings a little. Please give me any suggestions on what you want to hear. I do this for you guys so let me get to know you, tell me what you like. Feel free to email, DM, PM, or any way you want to get a hold of me. And tell me what to write. Hope you liked it, please reach out, thanks.
