My One, My Only

Below is a poem that I wrote after almost passing out in volleyball. I was thinking about how it would be perfect if someone could just come and make everything all right. Me being my diehard romantic self somehow made it into a way that someone reacts to their love when they walk into the room. It is technically two poems but they seem better together. I am working on expanding my writing and writing from a dual perspective is something I have never done before so it would be nice to try. My explanation of the poems is very simple. She is hiding everything she feels from everyone. You see the guy's point of view that she is even smiling and laughing, doing normal things so no one notices. She is completely in love and just by seeing him feels better. He sees her as nothing short of a goddess. He can tell that something is wrong and doesn't even know that just by his presence he is fixing it.

My One(Her)

My arms are heavy

my legs are weak.

Breathing abnormal

and still can't see.

But then you come

and clear everything

up

Because my love,

you are my one.

My Only(Him)

I see you.

You float weightlessly

around the room,

smiling and laughing.

The perfect stature.

We meet eyes and I

see your worries lift.

Oh, how

nothing can compare to

my only.
